Happy Birthday Logan!

I knew I would be way to overwhelmed with the first day of school & his birthday & the bajillion pictures we've already taken that I'm not even going to try to document his day today.  Instead I made you this:

I love music, we love music...it moves me, it understands me & when I connect a song with a certain time of life 20 years down the rode I can hear that song and immediately be back in that moment.  I love that.

This is a slideshow of pictures of the past 3 years and the songs that got me through & raised our baby into the little magical man his is now.  3 songs for 3 years

Somewhere between Price Cuts & Papertowels

is where Reagan sat for her not one, not two but three timeouts today, while we were out

She is going through something.  It's a whole bunch of fit throwing & ridiculous amounts of crying.

Maybe she's getting her last molars? Maybe it's her diaper rash? Maybe it's growing pains?  Maybe it's just a tough time in a little girls life, being almost 20 months and all....

From the archives: part five

I mentioned life is busier now.  Here is a glimpse of how slow life was way back then.  This is Logan a week and change before his 1st birthday - he was just learning how to move.  For an entire year he didn't crawl.  For an entire year he didn't know how to operate his own body.

Crazy.

I've almost forgotten.  But then I remember trying so hard & I remember crying so hard.

Now he doesn't stop.
Literally, he does not stop moving.  He has 2 speeds super fast and sound asleep.

Wonderful & Beautiful

Please let me always remember today

Today was the last day that I got to walk Logan into school & stay in the classroom all day with him.  We've decided to let him ride the bus from day one.  So next Thursday, we will wait curbside for the bus which will take him to school and then return him 4 hours later.
Today when we walked into the classroom almost all the kids ran up and said "Hi Logan! Hi Logan's Mommy!!"  the very last little girl to say hi walked up shyly and handed Logan this.  Melt my heart, Logan has his first girlfriend.
Today Mommy was feeling extra nice and let the kiddos have Nutella smothered crackers after lunch.  Today I found out my daughter and I have yet another thing in common:  A CRAZY love for chocolate.

Today for the first time ever it looked like Logan missed Reagan while we were at school.  From the minute we got home he wanted to be near her.  They chased each other and at one point Reagan stopped and threw her arms around him giving him a big hug.  Today for the first time EVER Logan put his arms around her.  Even I haven't had the joy of feeling his arms wrapped around me.  The pictures blurry cause it only lasted a split second.  But I caught it :)
Today I carried Reagan up to her room for her nap.  At some point while on the stairs she got really heavy in my arms.  Got to the top and looked in the mirror at her - she had fallen asleep.  Sucking her thumb?!!

From the Archives: part four

OK - completely not baby & not Logan related (well kinda)....  Obviously I'm having some fun going through all our old videos.

Here's some never been seen before footage, it's from our Honeymoon:

All I gotta say is thank goodness our first child wasn't a girl ;)

From the Archives: part three

He's always been such a talker :)
He was always making noise as a baby - he still loves to make noise!  Only now he's much bigger so his noises are much bigger!!

Logan - May 2010 (3+ months old)

Cold up in hurrr

Sometime in the middle of the night last night - which also happens to be the coldest night we've had yet - our furnace cut out.  It's 1pm now and we're still without heat.  It's a chillychilly 50 degrees in our living room and cold 41 degrees in the playroom and Logans room :o

And 16 degrees outside - wind chill makes it feel 1 degree.
Awesome.

Kiddos got their first taste of "hot chocolate" (warm milk with chocolate sauce) and thought it was fun they got to wear their jackets all day.  They are doubled and tripled up in jammies & sweats nappin right now.  Hoping we get it fixed before tonights 5 degree forecast sets in.

A strange little lady

She ate her snack today like this:

From the Archives: part two

Couple of my all time fav's taken from Logan's first 2 months
And to read a glimpse of what life was like way back them click here Pictureless Snapshot

Life was so busy yet so slow back then.  I remember how much he cried.  He cried alllll the time.  I remember bouncing on the yoga ball until my legs went numb cause that was the only thing that kept him quite.  I remember his baby smell - still to this day.  I remember feeling like I had no idea what I was doing.

Life is a whole heck of a lot busier now - but still slow in it's own way.  I think about how we've only known a walking Logan for less than 6 months and that alone makes his 3 years seem long & slow.  Thank goodness he doesn't cry like he use to any more.  He still has a special love for that yoga ball but he loves it cause it's a giant ball, not because he & I lived on it for the first 6months of his life. And NewsFlash I still feel like I don't know what I'm doing - but they are both growing and both getting better at life every single day so we must be doing something right :)

Speaking of growing and getting better:
We went to a follow up orthopedist appointment today - good news: he has graduated out of the SMO braces and will just use a PattiBob insert in each shoe.

They go perfectly with her pony tails.

They don't get to have juice all that often but - when they do - this is how they drink it.  They stand right where they were when I handed it to them & they drink&drink&drink and don't move and drink some more.  Until they have finished it entirely.

And then they go on an energy spurt as the sugar begins to hit their bloodstream.

Prepare yourselves

Little less than 2 weeks left till the celebration of his birth....  It's got me flippin through all his baby pictures

I'm a lover of birthdays so brace yourself for some reminiscing, old photos, never been seen before videos and lastly, an absurd amount of celebrating and picturing taking as we try to savor the last 2 weeks of having 2 babies under the age of 2.

January sunshine never lasts long...

4 inches of  snow were awaiting us when we woke up.
Dug the sled out of the attic & began the 20min bundle up.

Not sure if you can tell from the pictures but the kiddos did NOT have a good time on the sled.  But I continued pulling them.....lol.  After the torture stopped we I built a snowwoman for Reagan.  It was her first time seeing a real live snowman - she was impressed.  This is her waving to him :)

Logan absolutely CANNOT walk in the snow.  So he spent most of his time playing on the porch and in the one tiny mudpuddle he found.

And then I shoveled the heavy snow off our long driveway while they watched.  And by they I mean the kiddos, I mean the snowwoman, I mean the 20 snow plows that drove by me, I mean my neighbor who was just putting away his snowblower.

Bring back the sunshine.

Eureka!

Today I called it a pony-tail instead of a hair-bow.
Simple. as. that.

She was all smiles. Ran around like I just put wings in her hair.

She looks older to me with those "pony-tails" in.

How I wish Logan wasn't blurry in this picture:
YAY for pony-tails!
We'll see what kind of mood the little lady is in tomorrow.  Or even after nap ....lol

Little People Potty Party

Went to use the bathroom this evening....

Cabin fever

When we got back from our Christmas vacation there was 8inches of snow on the ground, the following week it barely got to 30 degrees as a high temp.  It wasn't until this past weekend that our street was actually cleared of snow and this weeks balmy almost 40 degree weather has allowed a little meltage.

Our kiddos are like caged animals when they can't go outside.

We are done with being in the house.
So today we ventured out for a walk in the cold, in the wet & dirty melting snow.
And had a BLAST :)

Unfortunately according to the Connecticut calendar we are only half-way through the winter :/

New Years Resolution Status Check: Reagan

Reagan's New Years Resolution: Quit the paci

Good thing she has another 357 days.

Start Date

We returned the walker today.  Remember those days?
We returned the walker today because today was his official exit from Birth to Three and entrance to  Preschool meeting :o

Logan's first day of school will be on his birthday January 31st.  From that day forward he will go 5 days a week from 8:30-11:15.  He will have a one on one while at school and receive Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy each twice a week for 30mins and everyday he will meet with the Special Education teacher for 30mins.

We also got our foot in the door for a 5 week summer program in order to keep up with therapy.

I will drive him to school for the first month but after that he gets to ride the bus!!!!!

We are super excited! All the staff had a good laugh when I pulled out our folder of all the paper work...already filled out, all the release forms...already filled out.  We are ready.  Logan is ready.  I have a feeling this is going to make a world of a difference in Logan's development.

Startin' the new year off sick

Kiddos have been smashed between a nasty head cold and a stomach bug since we returned from our Christmas vacation.  Today Logan seemed to be on the mend but Reagan appeared to have taken a turn for the worse.  She slept the majority of the day - which she hasn't done since she was an infant.  She woke only to cry and make a trip to the doctors.

Doc said it's a that time of the year type virus she's fighting.
She literally slept all day

Woke up 2hrs later than usual at 8:30

Fell asleep in my arms while I took her temperature at 10:00
Didn't even wake when I plopped her on the bed to get myself & Logan ready to take her to the docs
She continued to sleep the entire 30min drive to the doctors (so did Logan?!!)
 Woke up at the doctors
Fell asleep again - allll the way home

Came home had a cracker and took a nap from 1-4pm and then was back in bed at 7
She seemed to perk up a little this evening after dinner ...hoping tomorrow she's back.  Think Logan missed her today :/

35 months & 19 months

Couple noteworthy things that happened over the last month:

Reagan has re-discovered Daddy :o
She is no longer permanently attached to my side - bittersweet

Logan gave his first kiss over Christmas vacation :)  It's still his version of a kiss but now 90% of the time if you ask for a kiss from him this is what you'll receive

Next month we'll have a 3 year old?!!

A Happy New Year

See how pink our kiddos cheeks are?
That's their sign they are still sick.  Kevin is sick.  But in our attempt to rise above, we dressed up and went out to eat for New Years Eve.
We didn't see the ball drop this year - a good nights sleep sounded more exciting....lol.

Speaking of exciting here is the short list of the resolutions for 2013:
Kevin: Drink more... water
Erin: More focus on me & my personal well being
Kevin & Erin: Write reviews for products we purchase off amazon, go on one date a month..without the kiddos
Logan: Use utensils while eating
Reagan: Quit the paci
Kiddos: Potty train!

A Christmas Story

As expected after over a week of vacation from home & technology I am overwhelmed with pictures and memories.  To save my sainity (and yours)  I choose to remember Christmas 2012 with a few pictures and fewer words...

Christmas morning at Grandma Jo's house:

Christmas at Grandma & Grandpa's

Geezey peezey the kiddos must have been good this past year - we drove home with more stuff than we came with -AND- had to ship 3 boxes :o
Despite some rocky traveling & the kiddos going in and out of being sick - everything was more than worth it.  Holidays wouldn't be the same without family & friends :)

Plenty more to see - so look! click the link --> Christmas 2012 Album
