Workin on getting those feel good endorphins out by starting to jog again - it's not everyday and I betcha it doesn't look pretty but it feels pretty good.
But since I know seeing my feet and the handle bar of the stroller is not what the people want for a Foto Friday picture, I leave you with the outtakes from our photoshoot this morning:

20 months & 4 months

But it is the end of the month which means our babies are a little bigger & that deserves a picture, smiles or no smiles.

The Hertel babies just realized that they have a whole 'nother week at home before coming to visit Aunt Erin & Uncle Kevin in the great state of Connecticut.
It'll go by fast little ones - we're busy gettin ready for you :)

I took pictures of our sleeping babies last night

We go in and look at the babies every night before we go to bed. I wish I could take a picture every night and save them all, forever.

Hump Day

This is how he travels around - inside, outside, hardwood, carpet 90% of the time now :) We love to watch him & it cracks us up watching him or maybe it's listening to to him? If you close your eyes and listen, that is what I love. It sounds like he is moving a mile a minute but in reality he's moving pretty slow. Perhaps it's just weird to be able to hear him moving instead of his silent slither.


She giggles. It's a raspy and I love it. Things that get her giggle the most are:
tickling her, watching Kevin & Logan ride the bike and playing airplane....

Thumb Sucker!!!!!!

It's just the beginning and she's not great at it yet - she stabs her eyes a lot but it's a start to self soothing and she looks pretty freggin cute doing it.

Little bits here didn't have a great night/morning and I was up waaaay too early for a Friday or a Tuesday for that matter. BUT it was the first chilly morning (42?!), Logan was all sorts of cute when I got him up and then Reagan pulled her cute card out when she hopped in this outfit.

So we're havin a good day despite a bad night.

Grass Giggles

The first few times we did it he laughed so hard he fell over...naturally I didn't have the video camera handy. I was prepared this time... and was able to catch that hardy laugh I love :)

Our Day

I know how I enjoy referencing other people's schedules they keep for their babies so for anyone who gives a darn this is what our days look like

We'll start with Reagans Day cause she's usually the one to get the day started first

6am-7am: Wakes up & eats
8am-9am: Nap #1, usually a solid 2hrs
10am-11am: Up & eats
12pm-1pm: Nap #2, another 2hr nap (usually)
2pm-3pm: Up & eats
4ish: Nap #3, this is the short nap or the nap on the go...in the car in the wrap
5:00ish: Up & snack
6:30: Bathtime
6:45pm: Lotion, jammers, nursed & put to bed
2:30am-3:30am: Midnight snack

Between eating and sleeping we chill, we play, we cook & clean, we go for walks and we hit up the stores.

On to the big man on campus:
7am-7:30am Up and morning cup of milk
8ish - Breakfast
11am-12:30 - Lunch
11:30-1pm - One and only nap, regardless if he's asleep he stays in his crib for 2hrs.
2:30-3ish - Up and afternoon cup of milk
3:30 - Snack
5:30-6ish - Dinner
6:30pm - Bathtime
6:45 - Lotion, jammers, book and nighttime cup o milk
7pm - Bedtime

I think he's still adjusting to the one nap thing cause some days at lunch (like today) this is what he looks like at 11:15am.
He's big into passing the ball on the floor, pushing his trucks around and books - the kid will sit and flip pages of a book for hours. He loves being read to and his absolute favorite book is the My Dog Rosie book which happens to be a book about a Rottweiler :)

'Member how I said the boys went to Home Depot while us girls were out and about for the day yesterday. This is what they were up to:

Party Girls

This was our first no boys allowed party - a bridal shower :) We got all fancied up (sans mommy's hair, i swear i'm very, very, very close to shaving it all off...seriously) and we made a day of it.

When I left the boys were headed to Home Depot.

4, 25, 32, 75

Us at the doctors this morning for his 19month appointment

4 is how many shots he got today
25 is how many pounds heavy he is
32 is how many inches tall he is
75 is how retarded many minutes we were at the doctors today?!!?

He's still measuring out on the small side of average but perfect nonetheless. Big guy has had a rough two days but he's a trooper.

Annnd speaking of rough days....

Little Miss when we first got to the doctors today:

Well that wasn't so bad

Reagan had been deswaddletized.

Last week we swaddled her with one arm free. This week for the first 2 days & nights we swaddled her with two arms swingin free and the past two days and nights with no swaddle. And it worked. In fact the last 2 nights she has only gotten up once to feed compared to the two feedings she was waking for.

She sleeps on her side/belly & enjoys sucking on the pacifier. She occasionally finds her fingers to suck on and I occasionally am good about letting her cry until she finds them and soothes herself back to sleep.

MRI day

In an effort to help us see what if anything else is going on with Logan we had another MRI performed. To date he has had 3 quick brain scans - but never a full MRI. This MRI should show in greater detail his brain and maybe provide us some answers.

Today was his day. 8am MRI at Yale.

Kevin went back with him and was able to be with him when he was being sedated and was able to be in the room during the MRI while Reagan & I sat in the waiting room. The doc. came out after about 45mins and said Logan did great and that he was still very groggy that they were going to give him a few more minutes to rest. About 15mins later - out he came all sorts of limp noodle'ish...but very happy to see his milk....and his moma ;)


Capitalizing on his sleepy state we hit up IKEA - Kevin carried Logan around in the Moby & I carried Reagan in the Bjorn. Two sleepy babies....
We should hear back with results in a few days.

Favs from our day

Did nothing out of the ordinary for the Labor Day holiday but sometimes the everyday things are just as good :)

Lets GO!! HOKIES!!

Here we go!!! Another season starts for our beloved Hokies. Today was Reagan's first game. Slept through the first half, but was all smiles for the Hokie pounding of Appalachian State.

It's a mom jeans kinda weekend - TGIF!

What you missed

Go figure as soon as the power went out both batteries in our camera died. 5 days without camera - not only no power but no pictures ...GASP. I tried to get my fix with my camera phone - so in camera phone style, here is what you missed in the last 5 days:

Logan started crawling on all fours a little bit at my parents house in the baby pool and now he'll get up on all fours when crawling in the grass :o

A couple hours into the power outage little miss Reagan rolled over for the first time!! This is the picture right before she rolled, my camera phone couldn't keep up with the speed of which she rolled. She hasn't done it since but she's got it in her.

And month 3 of her little life brings the first round of tough love. I'm attempting no swaddle/one arm swaddle when she sleeps and 5 whole minutes of crying before I go up and help her realize she's ok. We've only had one day of this and so far so good, longest shes ever cried is 4mins :) And yes, I just sit there and watch the clock.

We survived like the Amish do for 5 days and 4 nights....brutal.
Having a power party tonight which kinda looks like what our evenings without power looked like :)
