At 6:50am while waiting for the bus my children starting singing the loudest rendition of Happy Birthday I've EVER heard.  Don't you wish you were our neighbor?

too fast too.

While we're on the topic of too fast - Logan will be 4 years old in two days.

He is not potty trained but our plan is to see how he reacts to  Reagan being potty trained. Then we'll go from there. I've been mentally preparing for myself for potty training Logan for the last 2 years & I still don't feel ready.  He's not ready.

I just recently went through his closet and took out all his 3T clothing.  He is too tall for them now.  He is even growing out of his glasses :o   If he still didn't let me rock him to sleep some days I would swear he was a little kid and not a toddler any more.

On January 11th he was scheduled for his 24hr EEG.  On January 9th they called to inform us of the out of pocket cost. On January 10th we cancelled and rescheduled for a later date when we can be more prepared for what it costs to monitor Logans brain waves for 24hrs.

Some of the results are beginning to come in from all of the blood work he had done. The other day they called to let us know one particular test came back with elevated levels, like double elevated levels.  I was told very little about what that is or means but google tells me elevated numbers in this test could be Very Long Chain Acyl CoA Dehydrogenase Deficiency (VLCADD)   Google also informed me that there are several studies out there that children with Autism have a tendency to have VLCAD.  And now you know as much as we do.  We are going for yet another blood test this week to confirm or rule out.

His actual Birthday is Friday so I'll bring cupcakes to school for snack and we'll have an all around fun day but the real fun is saved for Saturday & Sunday!!!! Saturday - Daddy, Logan, Uncle Timmy & Mason are going to Monster Jam - the REAL DEAL MONSTER JAM!  Logan won't know what to do with himself...I guarantee it.  I need to have Kevin video it - cause I know he will be THAT excited it has potential to be hilarious.  Then Super Bowl Sunday we're having family & friends over to celebrate Logan, Us raising Logan for 4 years and counting, and to celebrate a most certain victory for the Broncos.

Sounds like an amazing weekend for an amazing boy :)

too fast.

She's becoming a big, little girl.

She is 90% potty trained and it has been easy breezy - just like I suspected it might be.  She is still in a diaper at night, while she sleeps, but other than that she has had several days of no accidents, she tells me when she needs to go, she poo's in the potty - don't ask how we did it.  It was all her.  She was just waiting for us to let her :)

She is officially done with naps.  The day we took her paci's away she stopped napping.  We took something away that she loved, she took away something we loved.  boo. So instead of putting a diaper on her for naps and having her stay in her room - she stays in panties and stays in her room for only about 30 mins.  The rest of (Logans)naptime she is allowed to play quietly anywhere in the house.  It's been working.

She wears panties and doesn't nap.
She's only 2.5 - I don't want her to grow up fast, but she is.

I leave you with a list of  Reagan words that are my favorites :
  • lasterday (combination of last night & yesterday)
  • ferafee (therapy)
  • eleventeen (the number that comes after 10)
  • somberbody (combination of someone and everybody)
  • little bip (little bit)
  • ATV (TV)
  • percueter (computer)

slow down my little lady.

I like to think the Hawk's brought a little bit of the Connecticut chill with us when we moved to Texas. We've had a chilly winter & today - today Texas is closed today due to the layer of ice covering it.

Logan in a Kaleidoscope

Mommy found a kaleidoscope at therapy today.

1 picture for the #2 post

I'll save you the pictures of the actual first poo in the potty from Reagan.  Whooop! Whoop!!!  She was upstairs playing and just went in without telling me or me asking her and then came out and plain as day told me she had a poo.

There it was.

I turned around and screamed and clapped.  She freaked out, cried, threw herself on the floor.  I scared her.  I scared myself how happy I was.  No amount of hugs or happiness brought her out of it.  She wanted to go back to bed.  She did NOT want to go pick out a present  :/  She played in her room and laid in her bed for an hour. Recovering...

When she came down she said "I just needed a little break   for just a little bip.  Can I have a special treat now?"

YAY!

Bucket List 2014: Reagan potty trained

Today was an unofficial, impromptu start to Reagan's potty training.  I had planned to start last week but then it got pushed to this week ...but after talking with Kevin last night we pushed it back to the weekend so we could help each other.... lol...obviously I'm putting it off.

So I bought gear (panties, treats, $1 gifts, snacks, juice...) yesterday and wanted ALL day and then some to plan my attack based on the gear I bought.  But I just rolled with it when she randomly asked to go potty.  I took her diaper off at 10:15am and it didn't go back on until 7pm when her jammies went on.

She had only 2 accidents.  One was more of a poor aim accident, I think.  The other, go figure, happened at our neighbor Mrs. Chavon's house.  We went for a a short visit and within a couple mins she had an accident....must have been so excited ;)

My original master plan was to give her money for every success (cause the girl loves her monies).  But the best laid plans never go as planned so again, I just rolled with it.  She needed no treat for every little pee in the potty - a high five was plenty. Then at dinner, we kinda made a big deal about her being a big girl, wearing panties, going potty - yada, yada...and she got a few M-n-M's  :)

I'm saving my stash of little presents for a poo in the potty. We had none of those today.

She's excited, she knows exactly what she's doing.  We'll see how tomorrow and the following days go.  But today was good.

Day 1 of Potty Training
  • 2 accidents
  • 7hrs of no diaper
  • 0 poo's
  • A million + trips to the potty
  • 1.5 rolls of toilet paper used?

Catch Up

Here it is.

Grandma Jo was able to visit for 10 days & Auntie B, Amber, Brodi & Taryn were here for a week.  We had a houseful & we were busy & we ate TONS of food.  In no particular order here are a few of my favorites from our Christmas vacation

Christmas Eve after Santa came:

----------
Logan, Kevin & I all had blood-work drawn to be sent in for a complete gene analysis. Logan had a lot of other blood tests done and therefore had a lot of blood drawn - he was a champ.  We will find out the results in 3-6 months.
  ----------
Every night the babies went to bed late.  Every morning the babies woke up early.  Every afternoon Reagan didn't nap.  On the last day she literally crumbled - this was a result - a skinned knee and a nap on the couch.
----------
Our kiddos were up extra early on Christmas morning.  This is us trying to keep them entertained in our room while the rest of the house slept.
----------
The only other picture I took on Christmas morning - Logan got a drum!!!
----------
Family bowling trip

----------
Andreas birthday :)  Nails, Lunch & Fireworks

----------
Random nice day.  Outside reading & hydrating.
----------
Moslener Family Christmas - again, the only picture that was taken :o

----------
Christmas Crafts:

----------
Puttin Grandma Jo to work!

What a wonderful time of year.
