She sleeps

She is almost 9 months old & we are just now able to say with some sort of certainty that sometime between then
and now - she sleeps through the night 7pm-6:30/7am. whew. That took awhile. But then it just kinda happened & it took about 2 weeks of her doing it for Kevin and I to bring it up to one another afraid we would jinx it. We are still dealing with a 5am frantic cry when she wakes up and doesn't know where her pacifier is (oh I love & hate the pacifier) but it's an easy fix and then we don't hear from her again until 6:30/7ish.

90% of the time she takes great naps. One at 8:30/9am and if she's not up I wake her up by 10:30 (yes. I wake a sleeping baby) but it's all in an effort to get both babies to take their afternoon naps together at 1pm...at which point I usually have 2hrs of quiet time that I fill with cleaning up toys, washing bottles, posting pictures of the babies etc....

It snowed here today?! So we went out to eat - my first time taking both babies out to eat by myself!

So I originally was going to post this picture that I took of them this morning while they were having snack thinking awwww isn't that cute Reagan is holding Logans chair:

But go figure, Reagan had to up and trump it when she fell asleep sitting up and then toppled over. I know cause I spent 15 of my precious baby free minutes, peering through the curtain of her room, watching her run wild around her crib until she started getting slower and slower and just couldn't take it any longer and then I spent another 5 mins taking pictures and now I've spent another 10mins posting the picture.

Lookin cute for the doctors today

They both went to the docs today. Reagan for her second round of the flu shot (which she took like a champ) and Logan for his 2 year well visit.

Just a lot of catching the doc. up on Logans development & voicing all our concerns and accomplishments.

Concerns:
Not walking
Standing for 10-15secs
Arm flapping & head shaking (relatively constant, especially if he's excited)
Not good at self feeding
Not using utensils
No imaginary play
Only uses 1 hand to play 90% of the time
Only plays with trucks & balls
Likes to watch things move
Mouths everythings
Cannot perform 2 step commands
Does not wave, hug, give kisses
Has no stranger anxiety
Shows no real excitement for Mommy & Daddy (or Reagan & Dylan)
Doesn't bend his knees & often gets stuck when standing holding on to something
Appears not to hear and/or acknowledge instruction


Accomplishments:
Laughs
Repeats a lot of words
Can identify a lot of picture flashcards (thanks Aunt Andrea)
Loves being read to
Eats fruit like it's going out of style
Can/will eat an entire apple if given the chance
Eats anything (kalamata olives, lemons, sour kraut etc...)
Sleeps - 11hrs at night & 1 2hr nap
Loves to play peek a boo
Makes us laugh, like a deep belly laugh.... every. single. day.

We want the crystal ball foresight into our little guys future - no one can give that to us. But for the first time our pediatrician told us that the likelihood that he will ever be at an equal level with his peers is slim. We are pleased with what we feel like was an honest sincere prediction - doesn't mean it makes your heart any less heavy.

30.

I am officially 30.

In my 20's...
I met Kevin
I legally drank alcohol
I graduated college
We got married
We moved to England
We traveled Europe
We had our first baby
We bought our first house
We had our second baby

We do a birthday month around these parts and it's fair to say this birthday month far exceeds the past 29. I've been spoiled and pampered all month - tonight is the last night of the celebrations and I couldn't think of a better way to bring it to an end.


After realizing all that happened in my 20's I CANNOT wait to see what's on my next list :o

Made it back from Grandma & Grandpas house yesterday in a record, relatively smooth 7hrs (whoopwhoop!) Just getting back into the swing of things and catching up on emails ;)

It wasn't our best trip & it wasn't our worst trip. We made it to Grandma & Grandpas in 7.5hrs and the kiddos were more than ready to stretch their legs. So we had walker races!!!!

Getting the heck outta dodge

The entire Hawk clan (Dylan included) is hittin the road tomorrow morn. First headed to Grandma & Grandpas to drop the kiddies off and then Kevin & I will be enjoying a 2 night baby-free stay at an undisclosed location to celebrate my 30th birthday :o

And we haven't started packing -rut row.....
