And that's Tuesday for ya. It was a 2hr evaluation...45mins of paperwork and background talk then playtime. We showed off Logans best skills & answered questions and spoke our concerns in front of an Early Intervention Specialist and a Speech Therapist. Logan was pooped come 10am when it was all said and done and we were told he was eligible.
Still not 100% sure what to expect from his eligibility. From what we've gathered he will receive Physical & Occupational Therapy at a to be determined frequency from at least 2 different specialist who will come to our house and work with him with us helping him to improve the areas where he is delayed and educating us on how to better help him.
Good for you and good for Logan!! I know it must have been a long, hard day for all of you, but it will pay off in the long run. Don't forget to check with your local school system to see what type of services might be available to Logan. Often there are services for infant/toddler age kids...provided for free (thru your taxes!!). He will do great...kids are much more resilient than we are, with a VERY positive attitude! ReplyDeleteThe great news about this is that Logan and you are both going to get help and get right on track. And how great that they will come right to your house! Especially with Reagan coming soon :) We have good friends whose son had a significant speech delay. They participated in a program similar to this and he is a THRIVING little boy. You and Kevin are great parents and are doing such a great job for your family. Hang in there mama!
