Day-o-Celebrations

Baby Shower & Birthday....lucky, lucky guy.

Lucky, lucky me :) Happy Birthday my love.

Baby Showerin

Baby Logan WILL not want for clothes - thats for sure! Mary, Andrea & my mom did an amazing job with all the decorations, food and party games. We had a ton of gifts ... so much so, there had to be an intermission! Not sure how we will fit all our new baby things & our England stuff in Kevins truck for our trip back to CT on Friday - but I'm sure we'll manage :) I have tons of favorite gifts like my diaper bag & our first couple cloth diapers but I think the couple gifts that top the list is the scrapbook Mary put together during the shower with all the guests photos, advice, mad libs and other fun baby shower memories AND the Thank You cards my sister addressed & stamped in advance for me (clutch).

Kevin did his part in participating with an attempt at chugging a beer through a bottle....not victorious. Dan however, a true baby bottle chugging champ.

Out of the two baby showers (my sisters and mine) I've ever been to in my life - I might have to say this was my favorite. My sisters was a close second ;)

We're baaaack!

A loooonnng but uneventful trip but we've made it back on US soil with all our luggage! YAY :)

We're coming to America

The alarm went off this morning and Neil Diamond was singing his heart out to America - haha, no joke. I think it was a sign. A little bittersweet last night & this morning. Kevin & I both agree that it just feels like we're making a trip and that we'll be back in a week or two. Notsomuch. This is it. Be sure to check out the closure of our life in England as we call it quits for our other blog - Cheers!

A Christmas Story

The other day I came home from the grocery store with a new outfit for Logan & when I walked in the door I pulled it out of the bag and showed Kevin. He was speechless & had a blank look on his face for about 20 secs before he said that it was the equivalent of the pink bunny outfit from A Christmas Story & asked why I would want to do that to our child. At first it was as if someone had taken the wind out of my sails - I thought it was cute & super soft. It was a brown reindeer onesie complete with each hand & foot having little paw prints on them and the hood having little antlers.

I returned it today when I realized Kevin was right.

29 weeks!

Please excuse the crater size zit on my cheek. I was hoping to be blemish free for the baby shower this weekend but this whammy isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Such is life. Thank goodness for makeup :)
I've been sleeping so very well the past week! Still having to get up at least once a night to pee but it's almost become a routine now. I'm taking it as a small glimpse of life to come ... only I'll actually have to get up and function more than blindly finding my way to the bathroom.
I didn't notice until well after my appointment last week that the midwife made a note that baby was laying transversely (sideways) in my belly. He should be head down in the locked and loaded position if not now, in the near future. We definitely want him to turn. I've since looked up some exercises that I can could to help. We still have time - just rather have everything set up for success a head of time.
Got my flight socks out and ready to wear for Friday - baby is excited to hear everyones voices :)

Last night Kevin's work group hosted ''Kevin & Erin's Going Away/Christmas Do'' as they call parties here. It was at a gorgeous Bed & Breakfast that was already deck to the nines in Christmas Decor. We had a great time & everyone had such good things to say about Kevin and the impact he had on the company & his department. The crowd, unbeknownst to Kevin, had all pitched in and purchased a few going away gifts. A set of 6 local, hand cut Cumbrian Crystal tumblers & this adorable England football uniform for baby Logan :)

Doctors Visit

Last one for England! This time we were able to go to our local hospital for a routine check up. Baby is measuring up just perfectly :) Ventricles have continued to remain the same as the very first time they were measured and he is growing right on track. Weighing in at 3lbs 4oz....so either he's on his way to being a little porker or he's itchin to make his debut a little early??

All our bags are packed, we're ready to go...

Gotta stuff a bit more in, not sure how its going to fit ....otherwise this is our England life in 8 bags. Almost looking forward to lugging this stuff around the airports.

In exactly 2 weeks we'll be baby showering, welcome homing & birthday partying. All of which has us beyond excited & anxious. It's possible it will be the longest flight home ever. Top things I'm looking forward too:
  • Being with family and friends & chit chatting like we never went anywhere
  • Talking baby with anyone who will listen
  • Rolling around as much as possible with Dylan
  • Making myself sick with all the sweetness that my mom might be making (hint hint)
  • Pulling into our new driveway in Niantic to create another house into a home for the next 6months
  • And I'm actually pretty freggin excited to go to Stop-N-Shop, Walmart & Tarrrrget!

We have our very last doctors appointment in England this Thursday & Kevins work people are throwing us a going away party on Friday then we leave for the airport next Thursday, flying out on Friday, November 20th!!!!!!!

WhoooooopWhooooooop :)

28 weeks!

7 months :) Hellllllooo 3rd trimester! Week 27 was a rough one .... achey belly, restless nights, eating woes. My belly is stretching- so much so that at times I feel I could take a needle to my stomach and it would pop like a balloon. So once again I'm having to re-evaluate my food consumption. I find I'm hungrier than I have been but hardly anything fits in my being squished stomach. humph. I've been trying to eat little amounts lots and we have been having early dinners to help give me time to digest - but still there are times when I feel like I can't even sit cause I can't breathe (I'm probably being a little dramatic but...point of it all is it's uncomfortable at times). All this growing belly stuff has been working its way into my sleep as well. There are now - count them, 1,2,3,4,5 pillows that surround me and seperate Kevin at night. And to add to the romance I've been wearing sports bras at night but even they have become so tight that my lungs can't expand and therefore I can't breathe (again maybe a little dramatic). Don't even get me started on my get tired after 5mins of walking feet. Woe is me. haha.

Perfect timing to head on home and surround myself with family & friends that can help Kevin help me be a happy, comfy mommy-to-be.

View from above

I noticed, while in the shower, last night that I could no longer see my feet when standing straight (gasp!). I had informed Kevin a while back that when it got to this point he would either need to help me paint my toes or pay for me to go get pedicures. He's undecided as of now.

What will Logan look like?

Little Kevin & Erin

Little Dylan

Big Kevin, Erin & Dylan

Based on the above pictures our guess would be that Logan will be a blonde haired, blue eyed ball of cuteness that will age like a fine wine :)
