6 months!

Electric Boat gets 2 or 3 sky boxes every season for Connecticut's minor league team, the Connecticut Tigers in Norwich and I was able to get my hands on a couple of complimentary tickets : ) What better way to celebrate Logan's half birthday than to take in America's favorite past time?!? We had wonderful weather all day. Mom set up the pool and laid out some towels, so the fam soaked up some sunshine during the afternoon and were ready to leave the house about the time Logan usually gets his bath!! By his normal bedtime, we had made our way to the skybox and were settling in. He fell asleep by the second inning, but loud cheers and whistles in the 5th renewed his interest. He was all smiles and giggles for the rest of the game!! We thought the half birthday boy might sleep in given his late night adventures, but alas, he isn't one to waste away a beautiful day, so we're up and at 'em at 6am again : )
Happy half birthday Logan

Shark sighting

my, my how my life has changed....

I was so excited to see the UPS man walking up our driveway yesterday with my much anticipated Shark tucked under his arm, that I took a picture of him. Our floors have been waiting for this miracle machine basically since the day we moved in. A little convincing from Andrea & Mom and we took the plunge.

Today is the big day - today I clean the floors! Is it sad that I'm super excited? Nah...just comes with the territory of being a stay at home mom.

Moment of Zen

It's amazing how these moments are always just enough time for a fussy baby and a stressing mom to regroup and start afresh.

In Ikea this weekend waiting out the storm we'll call Logan

Home last week after 2 attempts at a nap in his crib

Parking lot of Kevins work last week after he told me the last place on earth he wanted to be was his car seat

Sporting my 3 new layers of patience proudly.

Happy as a clam

Kevin went sailing on Saturday so Logan & I killed time while we waited for him to sail ashore. We were gone from 1oam - 7pm and he was a trooper taking his naps while out and about. When we were at the beach I sat him in the surf and he would laugh everytime the waves crashed on his legs!! :)

Morning: Shoppin with Mom at the mall!

Afternoon: Kickin it at the beach with Mom

Evening: Having dinner at Abbotts Lobster on the Rough with Mom & Dad

Smooth sailin has entered rough seas

For the past month we have successfully gone without feeding Logan between the hours of 7pm and 6am - it really wasn't too difficult a transition, I honestly think he was feeding in the middle of the night just for the comfort of being cuddled not because he was hungry. Tricky, tricky.

He is still waking on occasion in the middle of the night but we think those wakings are related to teething. Or at least thats what we are telling ourselves. Sticking to the plan though, we leave him in the crib and try to soothe him back to sleep just by patting his butt and showing him his thumb.

So while getting a full nights sleep has been fantastic - that means my body is going 12 full hours without feeding. My "supply" has adjusted itself to our new schedule just fine -however in doing so I think it brought in a handful of hormones that haven't visited in awhile. I've been a mess. Crabby, irritable, sensitive & eating chocolate bars (it's been awhile but all these actions are strangely familiar ) Just yesterday Kevin said "I don't know what to do with you" when I was almost in tears cause I didn't feel like doing any home improvements.

After over a year I think my womanhood is close to returning.

Oh joy.

Future Soccer Star

Yay!!!!! To date, Logan has giggled a total of four times. Since then, we've tried everything we can to get him going again, but nothing. Only his wonderful smiles. Today we headed over to a friends house to watch the third place World Cup match. After the game we were all outside mingling and we decided to see what Logan thought of a soccer ball. Only seemed natural since Erin and I both play soccer, it's World Cup 2010 and Logan LOVES kicking his feet. Not only did he control his passes back to me well, he thought it was such a great time he laughed! A good hearty laugh that kept going

At Last!

Dylan finnnnallly caught that bunny he's been chasing all his life :)

5 months!

Been a very busy last few weeks but let us not forget a certain little boy hit the 5 month mark :)
Some notables:
  • He's consistently sleeping from 7pm-4am up for a quick feed and then asleep from 4:15-7am
  • Has tried peas, nanners, avocados, and just yesterday sweet potatoes. Likes everything but the avocados
  • Poos have changed form & frequency - probably from the above food
  • Has giggled a total of 4 times
  • Still spits up after anytime I feed him, doesn't spit up after rice cereal
  • Talks alllll the time & has found a few new very high pitch noises
  • Reached out by himself to touch Dylan

Hot Hot

Heatwave in little 'ole Connecticut. No central air has us resorting to extreme measures to keep cool.

Painting and doing various home improvements in bathing suits

Having dinner with no clothes on

Buying a plastic baby pool hanging out in it

Stayin cool & classy.

4th - o - July!

We kinda celebrated the 4th of July on the days leading up to it by having a surprise Graduation party for Kevin and then a family BBQ on Saturday. Grandma & Grandpa left early on Sunday so with an empty house we decided to take it easy. We wanted to try out Logans hiking pack for the first time so we went to some nearby trails ...I think he loved it! So much so he fell asleep about 30mins into our hike :)

When we got home we did some home improvements and for dinner we grilled & then made a fire to roast some s'mores. We weren't sure we would be able to see any fireworks but lucky for us somehow our neighbor snagged a ton of amazing fireworks so from the comfort of our backyard we were able to see an incredible show.

Happy 4th of July!

G'ma & G'pa

Not sure my parents visit this past week could have been more productive. They came Tuesday & left on Sunday and in that time span we (and by we I'm mean Tom for the most part)

  1. Painted our ceilings
  2. Painted our kitchen/dining room
  3. Stained & installed the floor thresholds
  4. Put a new toilet seat on
  5. Painted & installed two new interior doors
  6. Changed our water filter
  7. Sharked the floors
  8. Hosted a surprise graduation party for Kevin
  9. Worked on the front porch some
  10. Went to Home Depot like 20 times
  11. Ate & Drank like champs
Grandma & Grandpa even babysat for a few hours while Kevin & I went out consequently leading to my first hangover in over a year. Just as I remembered them, not fun. Logan loved every second of their visit & even giggled two more times, cause Grandma is just that funny :)
Hoping they'll come back even tho we put them to work while they were here.

My kind of Saturday
