Lucy's 1st Pop-Up adventure
The extra sleepy, extra fast while camping that I talked about can be seen in these pictures. Something about fresh salt air, relaxing & playing at the beach can be so exhausting.
This littlest of ladies slept like a champ in the pop up
Some sleepy eyes happening
Gettin ready for the beach!
Seashell hunting
"Catching waves"
Building castles
Digging and mixing
Snoozin
Making chairs in the sand
Sleepiest had fun at the beach all day eyes
Up with the sun
Sunrise cuddles
Camping is fun - but camping at the beach just might be our new favorite thing :)

Bedtime in the pop-up
Kiddos seem to get extra tired extra fast while camping. But it's oh so hard to fall asleep while the sun is still up and you have view of cars, ice-cream trucks and police cars.

Sisters
and yes - Lucy has a brother as well. Logan hasn't cared to pay too much attention to her yet so we are just rolling with it. He says hi to her but keeps his distance. Not going to push it... But I guarantee the day he decides to touch her I will have my camera ready.

Behind the scenes - the everyday with Lucy
I'm averaging about 100 cell phone pictures everyday :o And I'd say 90% of those are of little Miss Lucy. I do so wish that my big camera could fit in my back pocket - or that I would think to go run and grab it....then again we are dealing with a newborn so the moments that are photographed are fleeting.
Here's a small dabble of pictures so far
Here's a small dabble of pictures so far
These two. Every time they get near each other they are both in heaven & therefore I am.
You forget how little they are and how they rest so perfectly in the smallest nooks
Little folded hands & feet
eee gads - now thats cute
Right after I took this picture I thought she looked like my Grandma ...in a good way ;)
First bath!
I think this is her happy face. Imagine how beautiful it will be when she figures out how to smile
Logan & Reagan gave Lucy a bath - one of those times I wish I had my good camera handy. But this bath lasted all of 3secs. Lucy put a spell on me when she was born and my body physically can't handle hearing her cry.
A week ago I may never have posted a picture of me straight outta bed. But there is something about 3 happy faces that make me see past the mop on my head & bags under my eyes
If you think my pictures are good - just wait. Third baby is already being spoiled - she gets professional pics done ;)
Cutest bear I've ever seen
Rut row Daddy. 3 girls in target.....

Lucy Annabelle Hawk
She has arrived. Fashionably late but like the other two kiddos, once she decided it was her time - there was no stopping her. Her birth story follows. Or you can skip to the end just to see pictures of her & our time in the hospital.
Nothing out of the ordinary to report. I had a 2pm appointment with the doctor - I scheduled an induction for the following Monday and started praying that she arrive before that. Doc checked me and I was only 1cm dilated.
Left the appointment and immediately felt the unmistakable heaviness & ache in my legs. I have felt that feeling only a few times in my life and one of those times was hours before I delivered Reagan. I start thinking - maybe just the act of doc checking me put me into labor.
Fast forward to dinner time. Still weird feeling legs. Stomach is contracting? or is it braxton hicks? Wasn't willing to jump to any conclusions. But I wasn't feeling good. I tell my mom and Kevin that I wasn't sure what was up but that I wasn't feeling good & I would keep them posted.
Power at my parents house went out. Wasn't predicted to come back on till the following day at 6pm. It's hot out. It's going to be a long night.
Gave the kiddos a bath, put them to bed.
Went for a walk
Realization I'm having contractions. I'm in labor. The power is still off. This is going to be a realllly long night. Game face on.
Power comes back on. Thank goodness.
Took a bath.
It wasn't until 10:15 that I decided to start timing contractions. Every 3-5mins, for 45secs. Yup we're in labor. We are decently into labor.
At 10:45 I tell Kevin that I think we should leave for the hospital - knowing how babies tend to come quickly for me I wanted to be there in ample time.
11:11 we both saw it on the car clock - we were enroute to the hospital.
Parked.
Doors are locked??
Walked to another set of doors - also locked??
I can no longer walk through my contractions. But we are wandering around the outside of the hospital looking for an open door, a security person, an emergency call button. I'm about to call 911 while outside the hospital.
My water breaks. We are still wandering around the outside of the hospital looking for a door in between contractions.
We get back into the parked car to drive to find an open entrance to the hospital. At this point we are headed to find the ER entrance but flippin can't find it. Instead, Kevin found a doctor in scrubs and yells at him to get in the car that I was about to have a baby. The doc declares he is NOT a labor and delivery doctor but gets in our car anyway to help direct us to the ER entrance.
Alas an open door. A wheelchair.
11:25 We have made it inside the hospital.
Kevin wheels me to labor and delivery. I fill out a piece of paper work in between contractions, check-in time reads: 11:30. Kevin warns all the nurses that I tend to give birth quickly. No one seems to care or to even react.
In the room & now in a gown
Sat down on the bed and immediately started giving birth to our baby.
She was perfect & in my arms at 11:46
16mins after checking in at labor and delivery our Lucy Annabelle was born.
The nurses that didn't believe Kevin when he told them this baby would come quick - delivered the baby. Doc showed up a few mins after she was born.
Happy Birthday Miss Lucy
